WWW Wednesday [3]

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Books to do a little reading plan update.

The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m really liking Ready Player One so far. I’m only a few chapters in, but I am see a few similarities to James Dashner’s Mortality Doctrine series. That’s probably inevitable, since they’re both about online life simulators.

I’m still working on Frankenstein. I was hoping to have it finished yesterday, for Halloween, but that didn’t happen. I’m not even halfway through, but it’s really not what I was expecting. I haven’t seen any of the movies either, so I guess I don’t really know where my expectations of this book came from.

My Lady Jane was fantastic! I love historical fiction, and I love humor, and this wonderfully merged them. It was definitely slightly more fictional than most historical fictions I’ve read, but I loved it.

Gemina is the second installment of the Illuminae Files, and just like the first book, I could not put this down! I got through it in one sitting, which is pretty impressive considering how large a book it is, but slightly less considering the format (chat logs, emails, video transcripts, etc.). I am eagerly awaiting the last book!

ReWired is my first book off Net Galley, so that’s super exciting. It was a good story, and I have a full review coming next week.

King’s Cage is the third book of the Red Queen series. I loved it. So much. I’m so happy for Mare and Cal, FINALLY! But then that ending. Boo. Waiting is not my specialty, and now I have to wait for book four. Ugh.

Up Next:

This time I’m actually going to read Now I Rise!

10th Anniversary is the 10th installment of the Women’s Murder Club. I enjoy a good police show or book, and these have been quite good.
