WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Books to do a little reading plan update.
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Ugh, this week was super busy for me. I barely got any reading time, and absolutely no blogging time, so no posts last week. 😦 I have quite a few coming once I get the time to write them though!
I’ve only read a few pages of The Nix since last week, so really no update there.
I just started Beartown, so I don’t have a lot to say yet. I really like how the point of view shifted really quickly, especially for the first chapter in order to get everyone introduced. It’s also pretty neat to kind of see things in multiple different scenes that are happening at the same time all at the same time, rather than having a chapter for one and a chapter for the next.
Darkfever was good. It’s about a pretty different version of the fae than I’ve previously read. These fae are from space, and really don’t have the same rules as what I’m familiar with. So far they actually don’t seem to really have any rules. So that’s cool. Mac is pretty great. I like that she’s so stubborn to remain herself, even though the world she’s stumbled into is trying very hard to change her.
Clean Sweep was also an alternative take on supernatural beings being from space. It is a bit weird that they are still compatible with humans, but sure, hot aliens. I like that Dina holds her own so well through everything. She’s quite a badass. 🙂
The Upside of Unrequited is… well, kind of heartbreaking. It’s about a girl who seems to have very little self-confidence/self-esteem/self-love, primarily because she’s overweight. At least that seems to be the case. It’s always what her reasoning comes around to. I appreciate the ending that kind of seems to take some of the pressure off. Yet at the same time the ending is a little dissatisfying. And I think I’ll do a full review. Coming someday.
