Book Box Review: Fairy Loot January

January’s Fairy Loot theme was Talk Faerie to Me. Like Owl Crate’s theme, I immediately knew what this month’s book would be, but I did not put it together that it would be the same book for each box, haha. So even though I received two of the same book this month, I’m not even a little upset. Both of these boxes were so amazing!

Here’s what was included:

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

Summary from Goodreads:

Of course I want to be like them. They’re beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever.
And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe.
Jude was seven years old when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.
To win a place at the Court, she must defy him–and face the consequences.
In doing so, she becomes embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, discovering her own capacity for bloodshed. But as civil war threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.

I’m pretty sure this was my most anticipated book of 2018 (and I still haven’t read it yet), and I actually had to stop myself from buying it before I received this box. I mean, Holly Black.

These Throne of Glass prints are gorgeous! Aelin and Rowan are so pretty. 🙂

And here’s the other side of those prints! I think I like the TOG side best, but these are beautifully done.

This is the first candle in one of these boxes that I’m not super in love with. I mean, it’s not awful. I haven’t tried lighting it yet, so maybe I’ll like it better then, but I’m doubtful.

There were two different lip balms sent out, Seelie and Unseelie, and I got Unseelie! Both were honey scented, and, well, I kind of really dislike honey. I really appreciate that it’s vegan lip balm, as I am vegan, but they chose like the one scent I would never like. (I have tried to like honey, there’s just something off about it…) I am still using it though.

These Feyre and Rys magnetic bookmarks are the cutest! I think I’ve been seeing them around on Instagram for quite a while and I actually really wanted these.

This Faerieland (Adult!) coloring book looks absolutely beautiful! I don’t ever color anymore, but maybe once I find my pencil sharpener for my colored pencils I’ll try it again.

And the last item was this absolutely beautiful pillow case! I love this quote, and I really love this design. I’ve said this in like every other book box review that included a house item, but I cannot wait to have my own space to decorate. It is going to be so bookishly beautiful!

Did you receive Fairy Loot’s January box? What was your favorite item? What book are/were you looking forward to most in 2018?

  1. I got the OwlCrate for January as well! (Don’t worry, I still haven’t read The Cruel Prince even though it was one of my most anticipated reads as well.) I’ve been eyeing the April FairyLoot, but I’m not sure that I can justify the $17 dollar shipping to the US, even if all the boxes are gorgeous.
