March’s Owl Crate theme was Across the Galaxy. It was just in time for the Obsidio release, which, I don’t know about you, but I was so freaking excited for. And it said it would have an Illuminae Files related item, AND a mug, so I think this might be the most excited I’ve been for a box since my first! So here’s what was included:
Heart of Iron summary from Goodreads:
Seventeen-year-old Ana is a scoundrel by nurture and an outlaw by nature. Found as a child drifting through space with a sentient android called D09, Ana was saved by a fearsome space captain and the grizzled crew she now calls family. But D09—one of the last remaining illegal Metals—has been glitching, and Ana will stop at nothing to find a way to fix him.
Ana’s desperate effort to save D09 leads her on a quest to steal the coordinates to a lost ship that could offer all the answers. But at the last moment, a spoiled Ironblood boy beats Ana to her prize. He has his own reasons for taking the coordinates, and he doesn’t care what he’ll sacrifice to keep them.
When everything goes wrong, she and the Ironblood end up as fugitives on the run. Now their entire kingdom is after them—and the coordinates—and not everyone wants them captured alive.
What they find in a lost corner of the universe will change all their lives—and unearth dangerous secrets. But when a darkness from Ana’s past returns, she must face an impossible choice: does she protect a kingdom that wants her dead or save the Metal boy she loves?
So who doesn’t love retellings? And it’s an Anastasia retelling. That was my favorite non-Disney movie when I was a kid. Of course I’m excited to read this! Plus it’s got gorgeous purple stained pages and it’s signed! I’m so excited that Owl Crate has got so many signed books coming – I mean, what do you even do with a signed book plate? Also included were a poster of the characters and a letter from the author.
Next up is an Illuminae or Gemina inspired candle from Wick and Fable. I got the Illuminae Kady Grant one, which is blood orange scented, and guys, I’ve already used like half of it. It smells SO good! I believe the Gemina Hanna Donnelly one was honeysuckle or melon or something that is my favorite, and I kind of want to get it too.
Isn’t is so beautiful?! Okay, so I may have a problem when it comes to mugs (seriously, I have waaaaaay more than I will ever use. I’m trying to find some other uses for mugs if you have any suggestions.), but I am always happy to get a new one in a book box. Especially one with a quote from one of my favorite series, The Lunar Chronicles, and one that is such a pretty color.
Not that I don’t also have enough bookmarks already, but oh my gosh is this one gorgeous! And it’s got a Star Wars quote, and I love it.
Next was a pint sized hero Guardians of the Galaxy Funko blind bag. AND I GOT GROOT!!! I wasn’t even going to let myself hope for him, but I got him and he is just the cutest ever!
This print is a very true quote from Red Rising, which I have yet to read, but have been looking to get my eyes on for a while.
And the last item included was a galaxy infinity scarf, which I forgot to take a picture of alone, but it has been the background for most of these pictures. It’s a pretty nice material, that I think will actually help with staying warm in the winter.
Did you receive Owl Crate’s March box? What did you think? What was your favorite item?
