Unboxing: Dreamers & Fairies March 2018

Dreamers & Fairies March box theme was Fairies and Their Tales. It included items from Outlander, The Mortal Instruments, Peter Pan, and SJM. So a bunch of fandoms I never will have enough stuff from!

Lake Silence summary from Goodreads:

Human laws do not apply in the territory controlled by the Others–vampires, shapeshifters, and paranormal beings even more deadly. And this is a fact that humans should never, ever forget . . .

After her divorce, Vicki DeVine took over a rustic resort near Lake Silence, in a human town that is not human controlled. Towns like Vicki’s have no distance from the Others, the dominant predators that rule most of the land and all of the water throughout the world. And when a place has no boundaries, you never really know what’s out there watching you.

Vicki was hoping to find a new career and a new life. But when her lodger, Aggie Crowe–one of the shapeshifting Others–discovers a dead body, Vicki finds trouble instead. The detectives want to pin the man’s death on her, despite the evidence that nothing human could have killed the victim. As Vicki and her friends search for answers, things get dangerous–and it’ll take everything they have to stay alive.

Okay, so Goodreads says this is book 6 in a series… does anyone know if I need to read the other five first, or like the cover says, it’s in the same world but maybe a different story line? Either way, I think I’d prefer to read the rest of the series first, so it’s kind of got me questioning why they included this book? I mean it sounds good, but you know?

Next was this beautiful Peter Pan print. This is one of my favorite quotes, like, ever. I put it on my college graduation cap. It was nowhere near this nice looking, but whatever.

A gorgeous Mortal Instruments bookmark. I don’t even like Clary much, but I really like this bookmark.

And another bookmark… This one has the Outlander theme song.

Now this keychain is quite beautiful, but can I direct your attention the the bag, haha. It’s like the cutest little jewelry bag I’ve every seen! 😛 Anyway, really cute keychain too!

This Queen of Terrasen candle is so yummy smelling. And it has little flowers in the wax, which is super cute when it’s melted.

And lastly is this Outlander themed wish bracelet. I really like this simple style of jewelry, so I don’t know if I want to wear it to the point of it falling off. But of course I do want to have a wish come true. What a dilemma.

Now rant time.

I’m kind of annoyed with Dreamers & Fairies. I mean, they have such a great box, but they had such bad customer service that I’ve decided to hold off on purchasing anything else from them until they’ve had more of a chance to establish themselves.

So here are my problems with them: I originally subscribed to their very first box in January. When I subscribed I was told the price was ~$40, and was discounted due to subscribing. January went smoothly. Come February, I was charged twice, once for ~$50, once for $40. I emailed customer support and they refunded me the $40. That didn’t make me happy, but I had money back and I didn’t complain. Then again in March I was charged $50, so I emailed to ask about the price change and about why these $50 charges weren’t showing up in my account. I never got a response, and a few weeks later decided I would cancel, but like I said had already paid for my March box. Which didn’t come. They did post on Instagram that they had a delay due to suppliers, but boxes should ship toward the end of the month. I emailed them in April asking where my box was, and they then got it sent out pretty quickly.

Overall, I know they are a new company. They literally only have a few months’ experience doing this, I understand that. However, I believe they have a few things they need to change: 1. If there is a price change, let your customers know. 2. If a customer emails you about about this, respond. 3. If there is a delay, email your customers to let them know, don’t just make one post on social media. So basically, just up the customer service. Again, I understand it’s a lot to take on at once, but if people are paying you money, make sure they know what’s going on.

Did you receive Dreamers & Fairies’ march box? What did you think? What do you do when you have service issues with a company, but like their product?
