May’s Owl Crate theme was Fight Like a Girl.
The featured book this month was:
Sky in the Deep!
Summary from Goodreads:
OND ELDR. BREATHE FIRE.
Raised to be a warrior, seventeen-year-old Eelyn fights alongside her Aska clansmen in an ancient rivalry against the Riki clan. Her life is brutal but simple: fight and survive. Until the day she sees the impossible on the battlefield — her brother, fighting with the enemy — the brother she watched die five years ago.
Faced with her brother’s betrayal, she must survive the winter in the mountains with the Riki, in a village where every neighbor is an enemy, every battle scar possibly one she delivered. But when the Riki village is raided by a ruthless clan thought to be a legend, Eelyn is even more desperate to get back to her beloved family.
She is given no choice but to trust Fiske, her brother’s friend, who sees her as a threat. They must do the impossible: unite the clans to fight together, or risk being slaughtered one by one. Driven by a love for her clan and her growing love for Fiske, Eelyn must confront her own definition of loyalty and family while daring to put her faith in the people she’s spent her life hating.
Well, as excited as I am to have gotten this book, I had actually been lucky enough to get an ARC, so I had already read it about a month earlier. It was quite good! My (short) review is here!
This poster/scroll is quite beautiful. I actually really like how small it is – smaller than a piece of paper. I don’t have anywhere to put it for now, but someday it will go in my reading nook/library!
Well, I don’t take baths very often. I think my last bath bomb sat in a drawer for about two years. Let’s hope this one has some staying power haha. It does smell very good!
This pin is just too cute! I really wish I had something to do with pins, other than put them all in a box…
Inej is one of my favorite things about Six of Crows, and so I love this print.
While this is a nice bookmark, I think my bookmark pile is a little out of control.
I have not read this Catching Stars yet, but it sounds really good. I am super happy that Owl Crate gave us two books this month!
While this box as a whole wasn’t a huge hit for me, I did really love the books, the most important part of the box, and hopefully I’ll get around to using/finding a use for the rest of the items included.
Did you receive Owl Crate’s May box? What did you think? What was your favorite thing included?
