June’s theme was Summer Lovin’, and I won’t lie, I was considering skipping this month, as I really didn’t want a contemporary box. However, I am quite glad I didn’t!
This month’s book was:
From Twinkle, With Love!
Summary from Goodreads:
Aspiring filmmaker and wallflower Twinkle Mehra has stories she wants to tell and universes she wants to explore, if only the world would listen. So when fellow film geek Sahil Roy approaches her to direct a movie for the upcoming Summer Festival, Twinkle is all over it. The chance to publicly showcase her voice as a director? Dream come true. The fact that it gets her closer to her longtime crush, Neil Roy—a.k.a. Sahil’s twin brother? Dream come true x 2.
When mystery man “N” begins emailing her, Twinkle is sure it’s Neil, finally ready to begin their happily-ever-after. The only slightly inconvenient problem is that, in the course of movie-making, she’s fallen madly in love with the irresistibly adorkable Sahil.
Twinkle soon realizes that resistance is futile: The romance she’s got is not the one she’s scripted. But will it be enough?
So I was really excited to read this book, as I had read When Dimple Met Rishi, and it was so dang cute! This book… well, I like just about everything but Twinkle. I started out loving her and seriously relating, but man does she take a turn. I’ll have a more detailed review up on Monday if you want more. 😉
And here’s what else was included:
A towel! I haven’t had a chance to use it yet, but it is microfiber, so even though it’s like kid-towel sized it should work just fine! Plus, this way when people see me reading at the pool/beach, they won’t be too confused haha. 😛
I. Love. This. Seriously, who came up with the idea for a mason jar mug?! They deserve an award of some type. I haven’t actually used this yet, as I have a mug problem, meaning I have way too many mugs and they don’t fit in the kitchen shelving, so most of them are in boxes, and yes, have I mentioned I have a problem? But I am excited to get to use this someday!
Apple tea! I keep meaning to take this to work, since that’s where I drink tea, but it is still sitting where I put it when I opened this box… maybe I’ll go toss it in my purse when I finish writing this. Either way, I will get to it soon! I will say, I am a liiiiitle wary of it. I do not like apple flavored things at all, and I really dislike cider, so if it tastes like either I probably won’t love this tea. 😦 It does seem like it would be great iced on a hot day.
While I do have a lot of bookmarks, I will always be happy to get wood bookmarks! This one is so gorgeous! And wood!
I also have a pen problem. I’ve been pretty good about not buying pens, since I don’t use them a lot at home, but I am always happy to get new ones! Especially when they are as cute and fine and smooth as this one (am I talking about a pen or a date?)! I used to have really small handwriting, so I needed finer tips, but since using pens other people bought at work (low quality! :P), it’s gotten bigger.
So overall, I very much enjoyed everything included in this box! I am hoping for maybe just one more sunny and warm weekend day before summer is over (wait, it’s already over…) to use this towel, and hopefully I’ll be trying the tea very soon!
