Unboxing: Owl Crate July 2018

Owl Crate’s July theme was Strange and Unusual. As soon as I figured out what book this was going to be, I became so freaking excited for this box! I had read the first book by this group, and loved it beyond words. And the book included this month was…

My Plain Jane!

Summary from Goodreads:

You may think you know the story. After a miserable childhood, penniless orphan Jane Eyre embarks on a new life as a governess at Thornfield Hall. There, she meets one dark, brooding Mr. Rochester. Despite their significant age gap (!) and his uneven temper (!!), they fall in love—and, Reader, she marries him. (!!!)

Or does she?

Prepare for an adventure of Gothic proportions, in which all is not as it seems, a certain gentleman is hiding more than skeletons in his closets, and one orphan Jane Eyre, aspiring author Charlotte Brontë, and supernatural investigator Alexander Blackwood are about to be drawn together on the most epic ghost hunt this side of Wuthering Heights.

A Jane Eyre retelling. With ghosts. Just. Yes. I am so excited to get to this book, and should be able to make time for it this month or next!

I really like this wallet! It’s the style that I prefer (aka, big enough to fit all my shit and big enough that I don’t have to fold my money). I still need to transition to my “fall purse” and I think at the same time I will switch out my wallet for this one! It won’t match or anything, but I like it enough to not care so much about that haha.

Umm.. don’t kill me, but I haven’t seen Stranger Things yet. *ducks* I don’t have an active subscription to Netflix right now. Just Hulu. I keep telling myself to switch, but I keep finding new stuff I want to watch on Hulu. Sure, it’s not too expensive to have both, but I only have so much time! But I will get to it someday, and then I am sure I will appreciate this keychain so much more.

Great message, great series! I still don’t have anywhere to hang things like this, so it’s been put into a box until more personal space/a library is acquired.

I wasn’t super excited about these when I first pulled them out of the box, but now I love them! I have been using them after (onion-y) lunches to freshen my breath, and it is really nice to be able to eat like five of them and not worry about too much sugar (that’s the serving size!). They’re tasty, so sometimes I eat more though..

Cute, very cute. But not really my style. I might use them someday, or I might not. Maybe if I run out of plain, boring push pins for my cork board.

I am seriously trying to psyche myself up to put this on my computer (along with several other stickers) because I love it so much! I just need to get over my fear of the permanence and my worry that I’m not keeping this computer for the rest of forever.

This is a really cute print. It makes the think Doctor Who, which I don’t know if it was actually inspired by, but I love either way. Space whales!

So this was a fantastic box! I’m actually using/will use most of the items, and it included a book I would have bought otherwise.

Did you receive Owl Crate’s July box? What did you think? What was your favorite item?
