WWW Wednesday [39]

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Books to do a little reading plan update.

The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading:

Victory is an overview of the gay revolution in the USA. I’m sadly unfamiliar with a lot of this history, so it is fascinating, but it’s a little hard to keep track of all the people and organizations named.

Because I’m having such a really bad reading slump, I decided to pick up one of my favorites that I’ve been meaning to reread for the past few years – The Count of Monte Cristo! I’m looking forward to making more progress on this one, though I haven’t actually picked it up in a while.

I bought Pleasure Activism while on vacay, and have only read about a chapter. Or maybe two. I’m kind of loving it so far!

I’ve also finally picked Pillars of the Earth back up and am making progress! Now that I’ve gotten a decent way in, I’m actually really loving it! It had a slow start, but it’s worth getting through.

Recently Finished:

I only finished two books in July. I feel like I have been reading more, just not finishing much. :/

The Final Empire just happened to be the only book in my Overdrive loans when I finally decided to read at work again (rather than waste time playing games or streaming 🙂 ). And wowza, I’m loving it! It feels like it’s been forever since I read such an engrossing fantasy!

I brought Tales of the City with me to NYC, and I just so happened to get on the wrong train… so that was almost two hours with a nearly dead phone that I had nothing to do but read, and read I did! Luckily it was also a pretty good book. The only drawback was that I had a little difficulty keeping all the characters straight. Now I kind of want to read the rest in the series. Maybe someday. 🙂

Up Next:

I don’t know yet. Just let me finish a book before I start thinking about what’s next. 😉
